Directions and Parking

CDH is located in downtown Chicago, one block east of Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The entrance of the clinic is on Erie, just east of Michigan avenue. We are next-door in the building to Renee Day Spa, adjacent to the TGIF restaurant on Erie, and across the street from the Corner Bakery.

Driving direction and parking
The best strategy is to have someone drive you in, be dropped off at the lobby of the Michigan/Erie entrance of our clinic (645 N. Michigan, but actually on Erie), have the person who drives you park in the Northwestern Memorial Hospital parking lot. Note that Erie is a one-way street that is entered from the Michigan side. A printable set of driving directions in a PDF form is here.

We provide parking stickers for two lots. One is attached to the hospital and is between Superior and Huron. The other is at the Fairbanks and Erie/Ontario. These are on the hotel map below, as "P". Parking is $5 if less than 4hrs with validation. Otherwise it is about $20/day.

Valet parking is also available for $8/day (in front of TGIF restaurant). This is the best option for someone planning to stay for more than 4 hours.

Public transportation
Chicago has a very extensive public transportation grid that provides reasonably good (i.e. within 1 hour) accessibility to downtown from nearly anywhere within about 10 miles radius. We strongly advise taking the train during the summer as downtown Chicago is congested. The train is terrific, and the train stations are all within a short (i.e. $6.00 or so) cab ride away. If you do not mind walking, the Metra station that services South Chicago (Millennium Park) is only 6 blocks away, and in a beautiful and safe part of Chicago. From the North, there are trains that go to Union Station (from where you can take a cab to CDH). If you take the CTA trains, the Randolph Lake exit is the best, as it is just 2 blocks from Michigan and Millennium Park. If you take the CTA bus, you can get off within a block (ie., taking the one that goes up Michigan, and get off on Erie)

From close to downtown
The bus is extremely convenient to our office! If you take a CTA bus, you can get off just a few steps away (i.e., taking the one that goes up Michigan, and getting off on Erie). Bus tickets are only about $2.

From the South (e.g. Indiana)
The Metra train is wonderful. The Metra station that services South Chicago (Millennium Park) is only 6 blocks away, and in a beautiful and safe part of Chicago. From Midway airport, one can take the "CTA" train to downtown, and then walk, bus or taxi, to our address.

From the North, including O'Hare airport
There are CTA trains that go to Union Station (from where you can take a cab to get to CDH). If you take the CTA trains, the Randolph Lake exit is the best, as it is just 2 blocks from Michigan and Millennium Park.

From the far West
CTA train (and sometimes Amtrack or Metra) is again the best.

What's nearby CDH?
Within close proximity to our clinic is the Magnificent Mile with its wide and often beautifully adorned sidewalks, big name stores, restaurants, art museums and architectural landmarks (John Hancock Center, Water Tower Place, Tribune Tower, etc). All of that and more will make it an enjoyable day trip. For more information about hotels and restaurants near the clinic, go to this page.
